Acupuncture treatment is an ancient healing method which has been practiced in China for several thousand years. Chinese Acupuncture is still the main medical treatment in China and other countries today. In traditional Chinese medicine, the blockage of the flow of Qi (vital energy) is the cause of the illness. Inserting very fine needles into specific points in the body to rebalance the Qi , increases the body's ability to heal itself and to alleviate a wide range of illness conditions.
In fact, The World Health Organization has recognized that acupuncture can help treat a wide range of conditions such as of gastrointestinal, eye-ear-nose-throat, gynecological, respiratory, musculo-skeletal, neurological and others conditions as well.
Acupuncture is very safe. Side effects are rare. We use only pre-packaged sterilized, disposable needles made of surgical stainless steel. The needles are very thin, about the size of a human hair.
Since the needles are so thin, most people do not feel any pain. One may feel a slight pinching or tingling sensation. Many people find it relaxing and might fall asleep during the treatment.
In our clinic, there are other effective means of enhancing the body's natural healing process used in conjunctions with acupuncture. These include techniques such as Auricular Therapy, Electro-Acupuncture, Cupping and Needle Puncturing.
Auricular Therapy - The points on the ear correspond to different aspects of the body and organs. These points are stimulated by press balls or needles. It is effective in relieving pain and inflammation. It is also widely used for treating alcohol /drug addictions, smoking cessation and weight loss.
Electro-Acupuncture - After the needles are inserted, they are stimulated by electrical impulses. This is very useful for chronic pain syndromes.
Cupping - By placing a cup on the skin and creating a vacuum, the blood flow and Qi in the local area is invigorated. It is very useful for relaxing muscles, certain skin conditions and heat stroke.
Needle Puncturing - It is a specialized technique to strongly invigorate the Qi and blood. The skin is pricked with a lancet to let out a few drops of blood. It is useful to reduce fever, reduce blood pressure, relieve pain and other conditions.
